Carbon footprints are the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that are released into the atmosphere as a result of the activities of a particular individual, organization, or community. Carbon footprints are typically measured in terms of the amount of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e) released.

The most common sources of carbon footprints are transportation, energy use, and food production. Transportation emissions come from the burning of fossil fuels for cars, planes, and other forms of transportation. Energy use emissions
