The Birmingham pub bombings were two bomb attacks on public houses in Birmingham, England, on the night of 21 November 1974, which killed 21 people and injured 182. The bombs were planted by the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA). The attacks were the deadliest in England since World War II and caused widespread shock and revulsion.
