The illegal drug trade is a global black market dedicated to the cultivation, manufacture, distribution and sale of drugs that are subject to drug prohibition laws. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime’s World Drug Report 2020 estimates the size of the global illicit drug market at around US$870 billion in 2019.
