Dexys Midnight Runners is an English pop band formed in Birmingham in 1978. The band is best known for their hit single “Come On Eileen,” which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in 1982. The band has released five studio albums and several compilations.

The band was formed by Kevin Rowland and Kevin “Al” Archer in 1978. Their first single, “Dance Stance,” was released in 1979 and was followed by the album Searching
