David Lammy is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tottenham since 2000. He served in the Cabinet as Minister for Higher Education from 2009 to 2010 and as Shadow Justice Secretary from 2010 to 2011. In 2020, Lammy was appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Justice and Shadow Lord Chancellor.

Lammy has been a vocal advocate for social justice and racial equality. He has been a strong critic of the government’s response to the Windrush scandal
